F1: Alonso Fastest in the FP1 Session at the Singapore Grand Prix

Ferrari at last had something to grin about as Fernando Alonso set the speediest time of the first practice session at the Singapore Grand Prix as he beat the two Mercedes drivers. The main three were nearly matched with Alonso setting the imprint with a 1:49.056.

We've seen him beat the time outlines surprisingly after the Canadian Grand Prix. Lewis Hamilton was second snappiest - 0.122s slower than Alonso - while Nico Rosberg was just 0.027s behind his colleague in the second Mercedes.

Sebastian Vettel was fourth fastest for Red Bull with Daniel Ricciardo just behind him in fifth. Vettel's session finished when he went too far with the checkered banner waving as he ceased his auto at the pit path retreat and reported a motor disappointment.

Jean-Eric Vergne was sixth speediest in the Toro Rosso while Kimi Raikkonen was seventh however a monstrous 1.7 seconds slower than colleague Alonso. Jenson Button, Daniil Kvyat and Sergio Perez adjusted the main ten. The Fp2 session has as of now started and both the Mercedes drivers will look to make up for themselves.
